Clients

Is it free to post a project?

Yes. Unlike some competitors, Freelancers Outpost has no posting fees and does not require you to add and verify a credit card.

How many bids will I get?

You can get up to 10 bids per project. We decided not to allow more than 10 bids, to avoid clutter and to make it easier and faster for you to pick the right candidate.

What type of projects can I post?

Project types and their typical budget levels include (but are not limited to):

- Logo: starting at $200
- Corporate Identity Kit: starting at $500
- Small graphics: starting at $200

- Small business site: starting at $1000
- Corporate web site: starting at $2500
- E-commerce site: starting at $2500

What is the quality I can expect?

Agency Material all the way. We don't want to compromise on quality and only approve the best freelancers the world has to offer. All workers are heavily screened and have a killer portfolio to back their credentials up. In addition, many have several years of experience working for famous brands, such as Coca Cola, Samsung and Nike.

We created a page with samples to give you and idea of the work our freelancers produce.

How many projects can I post?

There is no limit: you can post as many projects as you like.

What is Escrow?

Escrow is our safe payment platform that protects your funds. You don't have to pay the freelancer directly (to avoid being scammed) and instead send your payment to our Escrow system.

We'll keep the money on hold for the freelancer until he delivers the project and after you let us know that you are fully satisfied with the work done. On the other hand, this gives the freelancer the assurance that the funds are available and he can start working on your project.

When the Job is completed, you can review the work and release the funds.

When do I need to pay for my project(s)?

Right after you awarded the job to a freelancer, you need to transfer the winning bid to our Safe Escrow.

How can I pay?

You can pay via Paypal or credit card.

What if I'm not satisfied with the work delivered?

If you are not happy with the work delivered you can either:

- request the freelancer to design/develop a new version of your project, at no extra cost
- select another freelancer from the bids you previously received
- cancel your project and reopen your job for new freelancers to bid on

What if I want to cancel my project?

You can only cancel a job by contacting us via the contact form.

Freelancers

What does it cost?

It's free to create a profile and bid on jobs! We take 10% of the winning bid as a commission which we use to deliver you additional freelance jobs and to maintain the marketplace.

How many bids can I place?

Unlike other marketplaces, we don't limit the amount of bids a freelancer can place.

How and when do I get paid?

All freelancers are paid in bulk via Paypal on the 1st and 14th of every month.

When do I need to pay the commission fee?

The 10% commission fee needs to be paid to us right after the client has funded his Escrow. Once the project is completed, you will receive the funds he deposited in full. We had to keep both payments separated to comply with our local tax regulations.

What if the client does not want to release the funds to me?

You are always protected. In the event the client decides to back down and not release the funds for whatever reason possible, 100% of your fees paid to us will be transferred back to you. No questions asked.

What if I want to cancel my bid on a project?

If you are not able to deliver the job, or you want to cancel your bid you can either:

- let us know via email
- wait 24 hours: the job will automatically be reopened for other freelancers to bid on

Any age or country restrictions?

You need to be at least 18 years old; we welcome freelancers from all over the world. Please note that a Paypal account is required: freelancers from India won't be able to participate at this moment, unless they have an account to accept funds and pay their fees to us.

Am I allowed to send my contact details to clients?

No, it is strictly forbidden to post contact details such as your email, phone or skype id in bids or messages send to clients. Any user found violating this term may see their account suspended or terminated.

Why is my account suspended?

This could be for several reasons, but the main reason is for violating the terms. Most common violations include, but or not limited to:

- posting contact details to clients while bidding and/or using the message boards
- creating multiple accounts; a user is allowed to have only 1 account
- having an empty profile and/or no portfolio items before bidding
- posting illegal or inappropriate content and/or advertisements

How many portfolio items can I add to my profile?

There is currently no limit: you are allowed to upload as many items as possible. The more work samples you upload, the better potential clients can see what you are capable of.

Where can I edit my profile picture?

The profile picture can be edited under the "edit profile" page of your account.

How many skills am I allowed to add?

The current limit is 50.
